Hindu-style dried fruit rice

This is a Hindu-style dried rice recipe that you can easily prepare at home.

It is made with white rice from the previous day. By the way, you know how to make white rice, right?

You can use the nuts of your choice and if you want, you can put a piece of hot chili pepper to make it more fun.

Soy sauce is not exactly a popular ingredient in Hindu cuisine, you can do without it if you want. I put it because ... eehh, I have no idea why I put it ...

Recipe of rice with nuts Hindu style

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • Peanuts without salt
  • Merey
  • Sliced almonds
  • Nuts
  • Turmeric
  • Soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 fresh green onion

Preparation:

As I mentioned, the ideal is that you have the white rice prepared hours in advance or even better if it is from the previous day. Of course, make sure the grains are loose before throwing them in the pan.

Calculate between 30 and 50 grams of each of the nuts (peanuts, merey, almonds and walnuts). Put them to toast in a large pan, careful not to burn. Add a half teaspoon of turmeric, stir and add the white rice. Remember that they are 2 cups of cooked rice. If you take the measure of the raw rice you will get too much.

Stir all over for a couple of minutes, add a stream of clear soy sauce and the chopped fresh green onion. Remove from heat.

This recipe of rice with nuts serves to accompany any recipe of meat or chicken that you are going to prepare.

I used it as a garnish for some delicious baked chicken legs (the ones that appear in the photo).
